Hey,
If it is too messy, cold, or just a hassle to bring the kids outside, bring the snow to them. Fill a bag or any container with snow, bring it inside, and then dump it into a bathtub, sink, basin, etc. This is a great way to keep the children happy and engaged on this snowy day. Happy playing!!

Make Your Vehicle A No Phone Zone
I have always known that it is not a good idea to text or talk on a phone while driving but watching Oprah's episode on "No Phone Zone" really drove this message home. It is absolutely impossible to drive safely and manipulate a phone/ or carry-on a conversation simultaneously. Although most of us have gotten away with engaging in this behavior without any life altering consequence (such as killing someone or getting into an accident), this is a very dangerous practice and a tragedy waiting to happen.
As an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teacher, which is a person that studies human behaviors and devise strategies in improving behaviors in a meaning way by replacing inappropriate behaviors with more acceptable/ safer ones, I have created a list for making your vehicle a "No Phone Zone":
1. Give your self enough time to travel, so that you don't have to call in the middle of your trip to say that you are running late.
2. Make all your decisions, planning, arrangement, etc before driving off.
3. Before starting your car, put your phone on silent/ turn it off and put it in a concealed area such as in a bag or the glove compartment. Thus, you will be less tempted to pick-up a call or text a message because you are not seeing or hearing incoming messages.
4. If you have to use your phone, please pull over to a safe area and put your vehicle in park before making that call.
Please save a life today by making your vehicle a "No Phone Zone". You could also take this pledge by going to oprah.com and signing the "Oprah's No Phone Zone Pledge. While on her site, you could also watch the full episode of her No Phone Zone.
